Tennis Summer Camps Set for June & July
May 6, 2013
Georgia Gwinnett College head tennis coach Chase Hodges has announced the dates for the Grizzly Tennis Summer Camps.
Six, week-long camps will be offered June 10-28 and July 8-26. Campers can choose from full-day or half-day sessions. Each camp consists of five days.
Players ages 5-18 are welcome. The camps will be held at the GGC Tennis Facility at 100 Countryside Place in Lawrenceville, just down the road from the GGC main campus off Collins Hill Road.
A fun learning environment will be offered where players receive instruction on tennis, fitness, speed and agility and compete in a match-play setting.
Georgia Gwinnett head men’s and women’s tennis coach Chase Hodges, who has led five different collegiate programs to an ITA national ranking, heads the coaching staff.
Alongside Hodges will be current GGC assistants with years of collegiate and professional experience.
The full day camp (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.) is $350 per week, while the morning-only camp (9 a.m. to noon) is $150 per week. Discounts are available for groups and siblings.
Campers are encouraged to bring what they would typically need for a full day of tennis, including their own racquet. Campers will receive a t-shirt and have a chance at special prizes and awards.
“We want to create a friendly, competitive environment in which each camper can learn to respect themselves and the game of tennis while improving their overall skills,” Hodges said. “We can’t wait to get started.”
The GGC Tennis Facility boasts 16 playing courts with spectator bleachers, plus an indoor lounge area and locker rooms.
