Former all-conference pitcher and pitching coach Steve Less joined the Grizzly baseball staff prior to the 2014 spring season.
Less brings seven years of baseball coaching experience to his position with the Grizzlies, where he will assist with pitching staff coordination and in-game duties.
Less most recently spent the 2013 season at Emory University in Atlanta, part of his longtime association with NCAA Division III.
A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Less played collegiately at Division III Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. A two-time all-North Coast Athletic Conference selection, Less started on the mound for the Tigers from 2002-06. Less captained the squad for two years and was a Student-Athlete Advisory Council member.
Less pitched professionally for one season with the Slippery Rock Sliders of the Independent Frontier League.
He went on to two assistant coaching stints with Wittenberg, aiding in recruiting and with the team's pitching staff from 2006-08 and 2010-11. He also served as a travel team coach in the Chicago area in 2009.
After serving as pitching coach for the Grand Lake Mainers of the Great Lakes summer collegiate league in 2011, Less became interim head coach and pitching coach at former NAIA member Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant, Iowa.
Following one year at Iowa Wesleyan, Less relocated to the Atlanta area and served as pitching coach for Emory in 2013.
Less is eager to join a talented coaching staff at GGC and help lay a great foundation for the Grizzly program that looks to compete for postseason championships for years to come.
Less resides in Lawrenceville.
